The Red Room
2003-10-13, 7:47 p.m.

Untitled

This entry will be pretty short but I wanted to record a dream I had the other day that was incredibly lucid and phenomenal in what I realized in it. I awoke from my sleep and found myself in a room that was not my own. The first starkly unusual thing I noticed was that everything was a red hue as if I were wearing red lenses. There were only variations of red. No other colors could be seen.

My perceptions and senses were unusually keen in the dream. I quickly realized I was asleep.. and with this realization I was able to interact in this dream world as if it were reality. I found great liberation in this. The bed I was in was very large and extremely comfortable. I had many pillows behind me and the bed was neatly made. I lay on top of the quilted bedspread looking around the room.

The room was bright and airy. There were two large open windows. One directly across from foot of bed and one to the left wall. The translucent curtains flowing gently in the breeze as the sunbeams shine through. There was a nightstand on either side with an ornate lamp to my left with fringe around the shade. I grabbed for the lamp to prove to myself that I actually was able to feel things in my dreams. To my surprise I could feel the lamp. It then falls over, but instead of crashing to the floor it is suspended in midair and hovers to the floor.

It seems as though I played around for a long time with different objects in the room. There were a lot of clocks. I was reminded of Alice in Wonderland as I played around in the room. I then noticed that the bedroom door was open and the hallway was illuminated. My curiosity got the better of me so I walked towards the door. As I approached the door the illumination gradually faded to darkness and I felt a dark ominous presence. Just as I reached the doorway, the feeling became overwhelming. I forced myself to wakeup. I was in my own room with my puppy Heather cuddled next to me.
